به گزارش سرویس بین الملل خبرگزاری صدا و سیما؛ به نقل از شبکه الجزیره ، روزانه بیش از 100 هزار مترمکعب فاضلاب تصفیه نشده وارد دریای مدیترانه یا محیط های خشکی می شود. جریان های دریایی این آلودگی ها را به سمت آب های اسرائیل منتقل می کند و تأسیسات آب شیرین کن اشکلون نیز چندین بار تحت تأثیر آلودگی فاضلاب غزه قرار گرفته است.

الجزیره همچنین درباره خطر آلودگی سفره های آب زیرزمینی، آبزیان و محصولات دریایی هشدار داده است. این گزارش می افزاید حدود 60 میلیون تن آوار در غزه وجود دارد که ممکن است حاوی فلزات سنگین، آزبست، مواد شیمیایی و مهمات منفجرنشده باشد.
